We are stocked to capacity and have no where to store stuff, so we need a slight - well huge - clean out so we can fit more in! Well the Eden Whale Festival is nearly upon us! And I think it has been worth the wait! It is to be held on the weekend 13-15 October 2023, with the main festivities on at the Barclay Street Sports Grounds on 14 October. There will be fun and game for the whole family, plenty to eat and drink and lots for you all to buy, even from  Eden Men's Shed. We are now with Return & Earn as one of their listed charities. So, if you have the inkling to return your bottles and cans at one of their depots and feel in the mood to donate the funds, think of Eden Men's Shed Inc. Lastly ... the passenger cruise ships are returning on 23 October 2023 - with the first ship in being the Royal Caribbean Brilliance of the Seas. As usual Eden Men's Shed Inc. will have a stall outside Twofold Arcade, Imlay Street Eden. Lastly, Christmas on Imlay is also nearly upon us. It will be held on Thursday evening, 14 December 2023. Should be lots to see and do ... and EMS will have a stall then as well...

 Hey hey hey Folks. I know, it has been a while ... but since the ships stopped sailing in (excuse the pun) not much has been going on! Well that was a tiny little fib. Eden Men's Shed has actual been flat out!!! We have been trying extra hard to make and create things to sell, but have been inundated with a huge amount of requests from all over the place. The biggest has been a request by the Eden Port Authority to make and install 10 huge, heavyweight benches to go into the wharf precinct in and around the Eden Visitors Information Centre at Snuggle Cove. These have to be completed by 16 October 2023 - a week before the first cruise ship of the season arrives on 24 October! The first of these are just about ready to be installed! Couple this with requests to refurbish/repair a side table, musical jewellery box, restore a 75 year old baby stroller, design and make a plinth for a model boat and everything else that came in through the door and TRYING to make items to sell to the pa...

 Hey Folks Well the cruise season has finished for 2022-2023, and we here at Eden Men's Shed Inc. had a very successful first year. The new season does nor start for a few months, so it will give us time to re-group and start imagining, creating and manufacturing more stock to sell to you good folk out there. Our goodies can still be purchased at Art on Imlay which is situated at the Seahorse Inn, Boydtown (just south of Eden) or at the Shed itself, at 21A Maling Street, Eden. Be mindful that they make presents, so don't be shy and grab something that has been hand crafted from donated and recycled materials. Hop to see you all soon. Lou

  Well folks ... the first ever Eden Men's Far Shed South Coast Men's Health Muster was held yesterday. 55 blokes from 10 Men's Sheds ranging from Narooma and Nimmitabel down to Bemm River in Victoria attended. No members of the general community attended - their bad luck, as it was a very informative day indeed. There were 9 stalls manned (or womanned ... my joke) by a variety of organisations Organisations ranging from dementia Australia, the Eden Access Centre, Meridian Aged Services amongst others. Young Heidi Sharples provided the entertainment for the day, and did an excellent job at it ... everyone enjoyed her singing and guitar playing - and want her back! Speakers were from varying backgrounds - including a pharmacist, Meridian Aged Services, and Wayne Wigham from the Black Dog Institute., and, again, amongst others. The day was a great success for us at Eden Men's Shed and the main comments were that it should be repeated (one bloke said every 3 months ... err...

 Well, only 16 sleeps until the Muster! It should be a good day - a few speakers, and couple of stalls (including ours where goodies will be offered for sale), a yarn or four about the different Sheds (and maybe a complaint or 2 as well) and food to keep us all going throughout the day. We may even be able to catch up on other Shedders that we have met over the years. Well here's hoping for a great day ... if it works out, it may end up an annual/biannual event.  Sorry for not being around folks ... was overseas for a bit and have been busy doping Men's Shed stuff, like finishing boards and organising our Men's Health Muster that is coming up in March - yes you heard right, it is a GOER!!! Just about finished 5 new charcuterie/grazing/browsing boards that will be for sale - 4 of which will be on display at our March Muster. The remainder will be displayed for sale at the next Cruise stall next week. I will start making the next lot of charcuterie/grazing/browsing boards next week. It will be a mixed bunch - some for a special order (10 in fact) and the rest for general sale. Lots of other projects are also being carried out by Eden Men's Shed members at present as well, which includes a new line. We have also had a few visitors from other Men's Sheds over the last couple of months - glad to see them and hear how other Sheds cope with finding funds and new members to continue with their works. That's about it this time '...

 Well 2023 has gotten underway without too many dramas anywhere. The year has started for Eden Men's Shed a little slowly sales wise but we are all in good health, which is a really good thing for us, but we will persevere and we only see things getting better for us as the year progresses. We are looking rather expectantly to our upcoming Men's Health Muster on 21 March 2023 at Club Sapphire. Discussions have started in regards to prospective speakers and stalls, and preparations for the venue are proceeding very nicely thank you. One of the, hopefully, speakers may be Wayne Wigham, who started playing 1st grade rugby league with Balmain (Sydney suburb) back in 1976 when he was 17. He is a great speaker and very entertaining. At present other speakers have yet to be approached and confirmed, but we may have a couple or ...

 Hi all .... well those of you that read this blog anyway. First up - the members of Eden Men's Shed would like to wish the winner of our End of Year Raffle (2022), Belinda, the best of wishes for taking out the prize on offer this year ... $200 worth of groceries, a handmade kitchen/entertainment trolley (made at Eden Men's Shed) and 3 Coles gift vouchers. This years (2023) raffle looks to be bigger. A local take away (no names just yet folks - sorry) has donated three $30 gift vouchers to be added to the raffle, so it looks to be bigger and better already! Now for the good news. Eden Men's Shed Inc. recently obtained a grant through the Australian Men's Shed Association to hold a Men's Shed Muster here on the far south coast of Australia. The event is scheduled/pencilled in for 21 March 2023 and will have speakers and a few stalls. Hopefully it will work out well for us. Lou

  Christmas is nearly upon with only a few more 'sleeps' to go. With this in mind, if you are looking for something special that is hand made as a present for someone, or for yourself (and who doesn't want something that is hand made, eh?), Eden Men's Shed will be having a stall - yes again - outside Twofold Arcade, Imlay Street, Eden, on Friday 23 December 2022 to sell its wares to the passengers of Norwegian Spirit, which will be the last cruise ship before Christmas. We should have something for everyone, with items such as a wild bird birdfeeder and a letterbox (if they are not on display and you want one if have them in stock at the Shed), grazing boards, a variety of choppy boards, fire pokers, billy lid and camp oven lifters. And don't worry if you don't have cash ... we are now in the 21st century and have a portable EFTPOS machine - that's right you can now pay with plastic (credit/debit cards that is). Oh ... before I forget, we will also be selli...

 Come along to Eden's Christmas Late Night Shopping night tomorrow, Friday 9 December 2022. There will be many street stalls, including us, Eden men's Shed. We will have all of our usual goodies plus raffle tickets will also be on sale for our End of Year Raffle, which will be drawn on New Years Eve, 31 December 2022. Lou

 We have had another successful week selling our wares to the passengers and crew of cruise ships, not forgetting the residents and other tourists that were out and about. We have even made a start on selling raffle tickets for our End of Year Raffle - gotta be in it to win it folks! Next cruise in will be Friday 2 December 2022.  See you all then! Lou

 We have had another successful day selling goodies to the passengers on the recent cruise ship Majestic Princess visiting Eden on 19 November 2022. Next ship in is on 23 November 2022 -, the Star Breeze, with another on 24 November 2022. Not as many people but both should be good days.

Well now ... Eden Men's Shed has had a phenomenal weekend selling stuff! Our Garage/Car Boot Sale did not attract any sellers, however, the nice weather brought out the buyers. We passed the sales for the previous 2 years by a long way - more than expected. So we may be doing it again next year!!! Here's hoping. On the cruise ship sales front - wow! It was our best day ever! A quick start to begin with, then things slowed down due to the rain for a couple or three hours, then we were flat chat! Sold all of the fire pokers we had on display. Did very well with donations as well - far exceeded our expectations. The next ship in is on Saturday 19 November 2022, and we will be, again, outside Twofold Arcade selling our goodies.  Nearly  forgot to mention that Eden Men's Shed will be selling raffle tickets for its End of Year Raffle. Tickets will be sold at our cruise ship stall outside Twofold Arcade when the ships are in, and outside the exit of Coles, Imlay Street, Eden from ...

  We have had another good day, or should I say an exceptionally good day, selling our hand made goods at our stall on Friday 21 October with the cruise ship Pacific Explorer. Even had a few 'locals' buy items as Christmas presents! Next cruise ship in is the Pacific Adventure on Sunday 13 November. Hope you all come over, look at our goodies, say hello and have a chat with us. We are also going to be part of the nation wide Garage Sale Trail on Saturday 12 November. We will be welcoming sellers (for a small fee) to participate and join us. As usual we will have a sausage sizzle, coffee and tea for those that wish to partake.   Well ... nothing about the cruise ships ... Eden Men's Shed will be out and about selling stuff in Eden on Friday, 21 October 2022 again. However, we will be part of the Garage Sale Trail on Saturday, 12 November 2022. Our address, if you do not already know it, is 21A Maling Street, Eden. You can be part of the day and set up a stall for a small fee, or buy that extra special something for somebody as a present for Christmas - or have a sausage sanga or 4 and have a chat. No entry fee for buyers, just come along for something to do. Also, the Eden Men's Shed Christmas raffle is coming up - dates have yet to be decided, but raffle tickets will be on sale at the exist of Coles Eden. Tickets will be $2 each, 3 for $5.00 or 7 for $10.00. The prize - that will be giving the game away now, won't it? Lou

This makes the third year in a row that we have not had a Whale festival, hopefully next year (who do we get compensation for due to the loss of sales? JUST joking folks, so don't panic!!!)
